August/September~ PART I

So far this September has been a busy month for the Dyer family! Skyler is finally home from Virginia after a GREAT summer working for RMI! We could not be happier with how things turned out and I'm so extremely proud of him! Skyler's parents; my in-laws, came in town from Alaska to re-do our Grandma Tona's bathroom and kitchen. While they were here Skyler's company had a big retreat on Labor Day Weekend in Bear Lake!! It was so fun having his parents in Bear Lake with us and to see all of Skyler's office as well as others from different offices, all together again.

Skyler has been truly blessed to have such great sales reps. They are extremely hard working and and down to earth GOOD GUYS! While in Bear Lake we stayed in a very nice cabin with a bunch of guys from Skyler's office as well as some of their wives and kids. We rented jet ski's and went boating all day. At nights we would sit by the campfire or stay inside and play games and eat junk food! It was a very fun labor day weekend, lets just say that!

Another exciting thing that happened this month was that Skyler finally got a Truck!!! If you know Skyler, you know that he has been talking about getting a Toyota Tundra for a VERY long time! I'm sure he could have gotten one a long time ago but he is also very responsible and didn't want to buy one unless he could put a lot down so he wouldn't go in to too much debt for it. We found an 07' black, double cab, Toyota Tundra with the TRD offroad kit. It was love at first site! lol I'm just happy my husband finally got his truck, he deserves it!
I was also able to do a another promotional Photo Shoot for Kate Johnson Photography, and Thai White photogrphy. Thai has been a friend of mine since I was 15 years old and she is currently trying to build her portfolio, so she asked me to do a photo shoot with her. She is so fun and I love how they turned out. Thanks Thai!

Last but not least, we moved to Denver Colorado!! Haha wow since the day we got married we have moved from Utah to Idaho, to Virginia and now Colorado! lol lets just says it been an adventure and extremely stressful at times but I guess that's what happens when you marry a summer salesmen. We are still in the process of moving everything in to our new apartment but so far I like it here. Its beautiful and the weather is a lot like Utah's. I DO NOT miss the Virginia humidity! It's nice to be in our own place again and not sleeping on the floor at my moms house or in a hotel. I'm just glad I get to be with my husband again and have some what of a normal life! The best part about it is that the sooner we are done here the sooner we can BUY A HOUSE!! Hopefully we will be in our own home by the end of the year. :) Skylers parents and Grandma were able to come visit us for a couple days here in Denver, so Skyler showed us around downtown. He served his mission in Denver so we were able to see all the different areas he served and where he lived. It was a cool experience and the best part was seeing how excited he got talking about his mission and all the people he met and baptized!
Picture above is of the area Skyler lived in on his mission and the apartments he lived in Downtown Denver. lol nice huh? He said he made good friends with one of the bums in his parking lot!

We were also able to visit the Denver Colorado Temple! It was a lot smaller than I thought it would be but still extremely gorgeous. We hung out there for a while and took pictures while enjoying the beautiful landscaping.
Ill be posting again soon with some more Denver Colorado Adventures! Stay tuned! :)

Rookie Dyer!

We finally got a puppy!!! He is a Yorkshire Terrier and his name is Rookie Dyer!! I already love him so much and he is the cutest little guy ever! I have to admit I was a little nervous for Skyler to meet him...Skyler HATES lap dogs and did not want to get one. lol but after we lost our baby he changed his mind and said I deserved my puppy. :) but to my satisfaction Skyler loves him just as much if not more than I do!
Here is a little story as to how I picked Rookie as our puppy!

My sister Becky was looking online for puppies for me and came across an add on KSL for a female Maltese puppy and male Yorkie puppy. The lady was selling the Maltese for a friend and the Yorkie was the last left from a previous litter. I had been wanting a Maltese for YEARS and immediately called the lady the second my sister showed me the picture.(she was adorable!) I was so excited to find out that the Maltese was still available and started jumping up and down after she told me I could pick her up TODAY! (lol,I know... I'm a nerd!) Right before I hung up though, I asked her to bring the male Yorkie as well just in case I changed my mind. So me, my sister, and my nephews Pierson, and Nathan all got in the car to meet my future puppy! It was pouring rain that day and it took us TWO HOURS to get from Layton to American Fork, but it was well worth the drive! When we got there the lady picked up the Maltese and the Yorkie and handed them right to me and let me show them to my nephews. I gave the Yorkie to my sister and held the Maltese. All I remember is thinking that she was really cute but I didn't instantly love her like I thought I would... lol that sounds so dumb but its true! I looked at Becky and asked her which dog she liked more. She pointed to the Yorkie. I hadn't really even considered getting the yorkie at this point but I finally picked him up and looked at him. Let me just say that he has the cutest baby doll face in the world and the second I picked him up he stopped moving around and looked right at me. His sweet little puppy eyes looked right into mine and he tilted his nose forward and touched it against mine and then gave me a big lick on the nose! I instantly started crying and said, "this is Rookie, this is my Rookie Dyer!"

He is seriously my little baby. I am very over protective of him to the point where its almost ridiculous! haha but my sister and I did some research and found that women who lose a baby and then get a pet usually treat the pet as if it were their own child. haha so that made me feel a little better and less crazy! I cry whenever he has to get shots and the vet just laughs at me! Rookie has cutest little personality and I just can't help but love him even if he's being a little turd! He loves to steal my clothes and hide them, and his favorite chew toys are our toes, my coral purse, his red squeeky toy from Petsmart, and my white flip flops. OH, and Skylers socks. :)
Skyler loves to play with him and every morning he picks him up and puts him in bed with us. While we cuddle in bed and give each other kisses; Rookie likes to squeeze in right between us, and licks our faces until we give him attention too!lol He is one spoiled little puppy, and we sure do love him! Welcome to the family Rookie! :)
